Delta Tao's "What's New" for v858:
5/7/2014 v858
Credit is like a looking-glass, which when once sullied by a breath, may be wiped clean again; but if once cracked can never be repaired. — Sir Walter Scott (1771–1832)
* Last version’s spring cleaning continues. Overall we hope to have removed more old bugs than we introduced new ones. We’re confident you’ll let us know if we didn’t.
* In particular, some mystics got their boost back. (Not literally true; but they’ll know what I mean.)
* Being the comparatively family-friendly game that it is, Clan Lord tends to eschew four-letter words. But don’t fret; we’ve added a whole lot o’ five-letter words instead!
* Mac Client reminder: for a few hours after the v855 Storm, three weeks ago, there was a flaw in the Mac client which caused its auto-update mechanism to fail at the very last step. A repaired v855 client was posted as soon as we discovered the trouble. But there’s a minuscule chance that some of you might still be using the bad one. If so, the symptom will be that when your client tries to update itself to v858, it will simply terminate after the download, but the new v858 client won't automatically start running. The cure is easy: look in the “Downloads” folder beside your current client. You’ll find a shiny new v858 client waiting there, all ready to go. Just drag that one out of “Downloads” into the enclosing folder, replacing the v855 client, and you should be all set. The next update will then proceed smoothly. (The discussion of this issue on the Sentinel may also be helpful to you.)
Windows users, and anyone who auto-updated their v855 Mac client after approximately 1:00 AM EDT on 17 April, can safely ignore the above.
