MaryJane sent the following report to TMN:
Beer Para!
Just wanted to share with you a couple of sketches from the Noid invasion the other day. A band of exiles fought them all the way from Southern East Farms back to the Noids Cavern, but then several of us fell when trying to secure the cavern. For awhile, all looked bleak as it seemed that more exiles were fallen than were standing.
Eventually, though, the tide turned, partly due to Sielk and Tip'II departing and coming back to fight valiantly for our rescue.
Thanks to all the exiles who were there.

Measle reports on the Clan Lord Sentinel that a visionstone of the Puddleby Players production of Zomeo and Thoomiet is now available, thanks to Gremlins.
Exiles failed to plant a kyeum in time to stop the ethereal incursion on Kismia Island. On the other hand, the incursion party survived and did not have to depart, and the ethereal forces of the sn'ell were eliminated.
Exiles are now gathering to fight the incoming Kismia Island ethereal incursion.
Pe Ell reports on the Clan Lord Sentinel that exiles failed to stop the recent ethereal incursion on Devil's Island.

Helios sent the following report to TMN:
During a very successfuly incursion into the Undine hut a Wraith happened upon our group. Without any fighters present, felling this monster became quite a feat! After swinging our blades aimlessly for some time, we finally managed to land a few strikes and finish the job.
Here's a quick sketch to show what happens when you get on the wrong side of four healers and a mystic.

Just a note to say hello from the ring of fire. Lorikeet gave everyone a bit of fever during our regular Purple Haze Hunt. This is what happens when we managed to keep the Ethereal Plane stabilized for a little bit.

SNN broadcast #3 is now live, featuring Phroon the Thoom as anchor.
So far, Fowlbane and Tenders don't seem to indicate much movement on the proposal to build a statue to chicken glory in the Petting Zoo. Is this a sign of exile ambivalence on the issue?
Perhaps we'll know more after the Chaos Storm.
What follows is a collection of images from the recent Camp Dred Ethereal Incursion.
Exiles constructed a massive defensive wall of kudzu.
Exiles worked hard to secure the surrounding area against auxiliary invasions. The orga were not happy to have us around. In this image, Yor receives some well-earned thanks.
Despite the best of precautions, even experienced exiles are vulnerable to unfortunate incidents.
Mary Jane explains the plan.
Hoggle and Yor double-team an Ethereal Cloud.
Intense fighting began from the start.
We make a strategic retreat. A selfless exile (I think it's Jive) bravely insists on being left behind to act as a wall to keep the ethereal invaders away.
The survivors leap to the east.
Healers and chainers survey the damage and take steps to prepare another assault to the west. This cycle repeated several times during the incursion. A couple of times, only a scant few remained standing.
Those few survivors of the ethereal onslaughts would heal the fallen and then slowly fetch via chain the fallen to the west.
Exiles burst forth to engage the ethereal forces again.
Merlisk dispatches a kuzdu with a knockout punch.
The defensive wall required constant maintenance.
Yor initiates a tactical move.
When the wall broke down, it endangered our rear guard.
The solution was the reapplication of fresh kudzu, before it was too late.
Merlisk and I show typical Thoom cool-headedness by sitting down during the battle.
Exiles drop down along the east side of the sn'ell to inspect the kyeum.
The ethereal portal, from which poured the ethereal flow, was on the west side of the sn'ell.
An Ethereal Cloud chases me.
Ethereal Clouds can be very persistent.
A fresh spawn of ethereal monsters can cause extraordinary damage in a very short period of time.
Another strategic retreat.
Merlisk chains a bunch of fallens on his way out.
Ethereal forces trap Rhys and Yor as we scramble out of the sn'ell.
A wide shot showing just what we were facing.
I pop back into the sn'ell just a little bit too early.
Yeah, you could see that coming.
The kyeum is almost ready.
A spawn gets behind the kudzu line.
The kyeum fires up, sealing the sn'ell from further ethereal invasion.
Dongle makes the traditional "We Win" salute.
This is when exiles are typically powerfully drawn toward throwing themselves into the portal despite the dangers within. I didn't stick around to see that this time.
Torin and Hunter report in OWE News on Yorbots, pink attack vermine, an Uli run, and escorting Asenath to the EP Forge.

TMN is five years old today. My thanks to all the contributors (there are far too many to list here) who have helped make this project a success. My thanks also to the readers who keep coming back day after day. And, of course, my thanks to Delta Tao, Joe and all the GMs, who continue to make this all worthwhile.
What eventually became TMN got its start a little over seven years ago as the Fishwrap, a peculiar in-character newsletter that I sent out originally via USENET (in comp.sys.mac.games.adventure) and then later via Yahoo Groups. I've started to move the old Fishwraps into backdated entries here at TMN, so they'll be searchable in the archives. That's going to take some time to complete. I've never sworn off producing new Fishwraps, so there still may be some new ones in the future.
Thanks, everyone.
