Early Morning, Lundi, day 90 of Summer, 559.
A group of exiles was working their way through the arachnoid caverns in East Forest when something went wrong. A stronger-than-usual presence of 'noids started pushing the players back. There were reports that in addition to the usual denizens of the East Forest Noid Caverns there were many kinds of arachnoids usually only seen in the Foothills. The 'noids chased exiles through East Forest, all the way to Puddleby, where they proceeded to lay siege to town. Exiles repeatedly fought their way from Town Center, where a hospital was set up in the library, to East Field, only to be chased back to Town Center again. Eventually, after several hours of fighting, exiles prevailed.
One upside of the event: many exiles managed to have a fallen 'noid stuffed and mounted.

I was just minding my own business the other day, when I heard some idiot screaming over his sunstone that there were drakes in the Fairgrounds. Naturally, this interested me, so I took a sip from my flask and was on my way.
Well, the rumours were true. We had about four different kinds of drakes. Even with Puddleby's finest, we didn't stand a chance against four Frost Drakes (and several others), and they flew off before long.
After they flew off, we figured that'd be the end of it. Ha! Soon after the drakes took their leave, we were assaulted by about three different types of chickens, ranging from "Chicken" to "Killer Chicken".
But that wasn't the end of it. No, far from it. Mary Jane seemed to have gained the ability to use lightning, and was flaunting it, killing everyone in sight who didn't share her (and the ones who did).
Eventually, the gods revived us, just in time to top the event off with butterflies. Honestly, the gods have a strange sense of humor.

Dear Para,
Chance asked me to pass along this sketch of another odd incident that happened on a recent hunt. She had gone to RC with Maquiladora, Fiona, and Revelor to pound on some wyrms, and at one point the whole group had to make a hasty exit. Revelor fell just inside the entrance and was chained out. Much to all of our surprise, we saw that he was literally "dead on his feet"—he was fallen, but standing up!
He stayed standing the whole time Maqui was healing him. He also told us this has happened to him before. We all found it amusing—just a little bit of fun on a challenging hunt.

The green portal from town has been moved to the South Forest Hospital for the week in order to provide people with access to the Cloud.
The purple portal is still in position in Camp Dred; people just have to walk a little further to get there.
I ask people not to remove the portal from the Hospital for any great length of time for now (I may arrange to move it further south to run a trip to Faleen Sfoft's Peak to buy parachutes later in the week); please refrain from bringing it back to town yet.
The portal WILL be moved back to town soon (OOC: either this weekend or next Monday).
If the cloud moves away from the mirror, please see your local mystic about repositioning it.

Armor helps chicken pass 5th circle test! I was probably 100 ranks off from being able to pass 5th, but borrowing Hoggle's full set of armor put me over the top and I finished my 5th circle test with under 15 seconds to go on 3% health! The armor really just barely put me over the top! The moral of the story: everyone should borrow something from Hoggle!

Hey Paramedic!
It seems that the previously reported Sea Chicken is not the only strange phenomenon appearing in the lands.
Antha, a young healer of my acquaintance, made a sketch of a Sea Meshra, which has been swimming about in the surf near the western docks for several days now. Very odd!
On her way to the tailors' shop, Antha came across another sight—not a surprising one, but worth reporting on. The person asleep on the job under the tree is our own Kahn St'ple—snoring on the job! If the only law in town weren't Kahn's own twin, perhaps something would be done about this!
