What follows is a collection of images from the recent Camp Dred Ethereal Incursion.
Exiles constructed a massive defensive wall of kudzu.
Exiles worked hard to secure the surrounding area against auxiliary invasions. The orga were not happy to have us around. In this image, Yor receives some well-earned thanks.
Despite the best of precautions, even experienced exiles are vulnerable to unfortunate incidents.
Mary Jane explains the plan.
Hoggle and Yor double-team an Ethereal Cloud.
Intense fighting began from the start.
We make a strategic retreat. A selfless exile (I think it's Jive) bravely insists on being left behind to act as a wall to keep the ethereal invaders away.
The survivors leap to the east.
Healers and chainers survey the damage and take steps to prepare another assault to the west. This cycle repeated several times during the incursion. A couple of times, only a scant few remained standing.
Those few survivors of the ethereal onslaughts would heal the fallen and then slowly fetch via chain the fallen to the west.
Exiles burst forth to engage the ethereal forces again.
Merlisk dispatches a kuzdu with a knockout punch.
The defensive wall required constant maintenance.
Yor initiates a tactical move.
When the wall broke down, it endangered our rear guard.
The solution was the reapplication of fresh kudzu, before it was too late.
Merlisk and I show typical Thoom cool-headedness by sitting down during the battle.
Exiles drop down along the east side of the sn'ell to inspect the kyeum.
The ethereal portal, from which poured the ethereal flow, was on the west side of the sn'ell.
An Ethereal Cloud chases me.
Ethereal Clouds can be very persistent.
A fresh spawn of ethereal monsters can cause extraordinary damage in a very short period of time.
Another strategic retreat.
Merlisk chains a bunch of fallens on his way out.
Ethereal forces trap Rhys and Yor as we scramble out of the sn'ell.
A wide shot showing just what we were facing.
I pop back into the sn'ell just a little bit too early.
Yeah, you could see that coming.
The kyeum is almost ready.
A spawn gets behind the kudzu line.
The kyeum fires up, sealing the sn'ell from further ethereal invasion.
Dongle makes the traditional "We Win" salute.
This is when exiles are typically powerfully drawn toward throwing themselves into the portal despite the dangers within. I didn't stick around to see that this time.
Hmm, I think this post lacks pictures. Is there anyway you can add like 50 more? 8P
I dub this post the most picture heavy post ever, ever!
Posted by: Super Chicken on May 5, 2007 05:43 PMI like these picture-heavy reports. They're like visionstones but without the boring bits! ;)
Posted by: Kani on May 5, 2007 07:40 PMThink of it as a nicely edited Ken Burns piece.

I noticed you edited out his right hand, which I am assuming is doing the saluting...
