Chaos Storm #300 has swept the Lok'Groton island chain. Please post any changes you have observed and wish to share with others in the comments. If you don't want to read possible spoilers, please do not read the comments.
Delta Tao's What's New for v300:
- No crashes or deadlocks to report since the last update.
- Wild Wednesday!
- v300 already. Has it been so long?
- Thank you all for being patient with us this month. Some of the things that have contributed to the current spate of difficulties are: Joe's in Hong Kong. Nancy's the new person in charge. www.deltatao.com mysteriously went away for a while (seemingly fixed). We have a new spam filter from Barracuda Networks (great!). We have a new firewall (stable). Access to the database is currently trapped behind the firewall so Nancy can't get her job done efficiently (upgrade ordered). Web based account services were also stuck behind the firewall (apparently fixed).
Sarir, Tenebrion's servant, is currently investigating the Mirror in South Forest.
Posted by: Insanelife on August 27, 2003 10:49 PMAh, Joe in Hong Kong, he should be my guest. ;)
Posted by: cyberbeing on August 28, 2003 01:39 AMNo crashes or deadlocks? Then why am I locked in the Library, unable to either download the new client, or access Delta Tao's website.
/stomps off grumbling to look for a good book and a bottle of wine....
Posted by: Dani Diuberr on August 28, 2003 05:42 AMUnfortunately the fix for the website doesnt seem to have been so successful after all, as its now dead again. Even worse, this means the game wont update automatically as the neccessary files are on the website (which is dead :-/ ). The only way to get the update currently is to acquire it from another person who already has it. Perhaps you could put them up here in the meantime somehow Para ?

Martin posted this on Open Hands in response to a cry for help, I do not think he will mind if I post it here:
Terise, if you are under MacOS X, I will put the ClanLord client tonight (at about 6:30 pm CEST, which is half past noon EDT ithink), on my web site http://kerharo.nerim.net/clanlord
Good luck
I hope this will work for all who are locked in the library :)
Posted by: Terise duMiroir on August 28, 2003 09:40 AM"Nancy's the new person in charge." Permanently? Is Joe stepping down? Or just while Joe's doing his globe trotting?
Posted by: Odes on August 28, 2003 10:08 AMOh, and as of 10 am PST Aug 28, still down
Posted by: Odes on August 28, 2003 10:09 AMGetting lots of Ore for sale, seeing how nobody else is around to pick it up.
Come back soon, I'm getting lonesome
Well, Joe's in Hong Kong for a year, so she's in charge for then at minimum.
Posted by: Polerand on August 28, 2003 10:22 AMI should have the osx version soon on my web site, as Terise said. The upload is almost finished.

If anyone has the os9 version, it would be good too, other people requested it.
Posted by: Martin on August 28, 2003 10:37 AMHi, it works again now! http://www.deltatao.com/clanlord/trouble.html
Posted by: Wise on August 28, 2003 11:09 AMJoe is on sabbatical for a year in Hong Kong. Nancy is handling account problems and related business matters while he's away. She's not in charge of the Clan Lord world itself.
Joe's still active in GM discussions, but I guess the person primarily responsible for world development now would be... me. That's actually been the case for some time (for better or for worse :) ) so Joe's more-remote-than-before telecommuting shouldn't have a huge effect.
Oh, and if anyone in Hong Kong would like to meet Joe, you can email me and I'll forward it to his new address. (His old one now goes to Nancy, since it mainly receives orders and account requests.) I don't know how much time he'll have, especially having just arrived, but I'll pass the word along.

Posted by: Ann on August 28, 2003 11:42 AMNot sure if this is new this storm (I didn't play the last 2 versions), but if you peer over the edge of the cloud, it tells you what's below you. Or, at least, the eastern edge does, I didn't test it with all of them.
BEER!

So is the automatic update system working fine now? I didn't have any problem; I updated before the server went down again.
Posted by: Para on August 28, 2003 06:33 PMQuick! While Joe's away convert the whole thing to cel based sprites and 3D Open GL terain and buildings!!!
::Dodges the Joe-Clone Robots with Kungfu Action Grip of the Oldstyle::
Clanlord in 3D would look and have the same if not more varried playability!
::Sumersaults in time to avoid the Joe-Clone eye-rays of Ninja Death and plugs his ears::
Imagine being able to rotate the landscape in order to view the action, sprites are based on animated cel-parts that reflected major items worn like clothing and weaponry. Interchangable heads and shoes.
::The Joe-Clone Robot Ninja wails on his guitor, but Charlie's ears are plugged and manages to avoid the oldstyle music of the Tigerdragon Hendruxflux::
Clanlord 3D: It can't get any worse.
Posted by: Charlie on August 28, 2003 09:34 PMI have an easier idea: New, improved storylines.
Ann, that's very cool!

Posted by: Odes on August 28, 2003 10:34 PMAny news on ranger?
Posted by: Sabriel on August 29, 2003 01:23 PMThe travelling carnival has returned to Puddleby.
The most popular game has to the be the bird toss where you can try to win a special shirt. 75 coins a play.
The shirts are...
Bright green (hardest to win. Almost neon in colour)
Midnight (Blue with a bramble dye)
Khaki (like a lighter tan)
Light Green (Similar to grassy green but darker)
Goldenrod (Tan with a bramble dye)
Icy Blue is not back. In its place is Bright Green as the hard to win center prize.
I have updated a copy of stylus to show the new shirts. It can be downloaded from http://www.alexandria.ca

Ann posted in the WoD forum that the ranger post here is a hoax.
Posted by: Baff on August 29, 2003 09:02 PMFor those interested Khaki can be made by dying tan with a lilaberry.
Great! Good work Crystal, much appreciated! For some reason they appeared as Excel files on D/L but stuffit expander still unstuffed them ok.

Nope, this isn't Ann, but it got your attention didn't it. Oh, and your all getting Tommyguns next update because of course we feel the game has been just too difficult.
Oh yes, and there will of course be a phazer construction building builder thoom by where the underground NoxSorora temple exists.
Oh and before I forget, Orgaberries for Everyone!
and metal will be sold for 1c apiece by the Sentinal, who was only just feeling cranky before till someone found the Snickersbar of Uncrankyness recently lodged somewhere in the Wendeka waterslide, or was it floating in the mershas somewhere. Anyway, 1c for one metal, no limit starting and ending yesterday at 3pm Pacific Standard time. If you were European, please see B'hite Meh in the newly constructed Buggehr Office in the fairgrounds for your opportunity.
